Scarborough Cottages
Scarborough is a popular seaside town set on the North Yorkshire Coast. Considered to be England's first seaside resort, the town has attracted visitors since the 17th century. For information about Scarborough cottages see the properties listed below.
Scarborough flourished during Victorian times and became a popular holiday destination. The period would see the construction of notable Scarborough landmarks such as the Spa Complex and Esplanade Hotel to accommodate the influx of tourists. Although the town has moved in terms of what it can offer visitors, it still retains a traditional, old-fashioned ambience.
The town has two beaches on its North and South Bays. The North Beach is a Blue Flag award winner and offers visitors a clean and safe environment in which to enjoy their holiday. The Spa Complex is an attractive old venue located on the South Bay and is used for exhibitions and concerts throughout the year. Scarborough's 12th century Castle is another historical site and is thought by many to be the finest in all of Yorkshire.
The Sealife and Marine Sanctuary is one of Scarborough's most popular visitor attractions and is home to thousands of different marine species including cephalopods and octopi. Its open daily, from 10.00am. See below for information regarding Scarborough cottage rentals.
